Table tennis: let’s think about this:

Daddy can I play tennis with you? - asks - 7 year old Sally.

No: - replies her dad.

Why not? Continues Sally - now twisting her ear.

Your mother says no - is the same answer she gets - every time - the question is asked.

Margaret - Sally‘s older cousin  - as she always does - lists the reasons - Sally can’t play.

The racket is too big.

The net is too tall.

Your legs are too short.

You don’t have the strength.

You are to slow.

You talk too much.

So - table tennis was invented.

( believe it or not )

Yes - a sheet of MDF was the saviour….

Rackets become pedals

The nets become smaller

Legs became the same height as Sally

Sally‘s right arm became stronger

Sally jointed the running club

Sally sucked on gobstoppers  - restricting her chatting

Best of all - Sally meet her boyfriend - Yoh Ho - and they became - local table tennis champions…

The rest is history… { vissa )
