father

there is no one word or feeling to describe a father

for the years change them all

in the eyes of a newborn he is a guardian

a teenager a provider

an adult a companion

he is a figure to rely and depend on

to full you with confidence

to guide you to adulthood with limited interference

and embarrassment 

there when you need him

to pick you up when you fall

there to hold and love you when all else fails

and you need to stand tall
