Ignorance and lack of understanding.
Living in (mostly) a democratic Western world, where we can disagree with our governments, politicians and authorities: we have a right to discuss our grievances: to put forward our side to the case: to question and demand answers and yes: we have the right to take to the streets and protest with flags, whistles, loudspeakers, screaming out obscenities.
We can criticise everything we don’t like. Yes decisions are made by those with Power that we don’t agree with and yes we have the right to complain and protest against: yet once a protest is finished successfully or ignored. We can all gather our placards and our friends and wander off home. Maybe dropping into pub: have a drink, a sandwich, a restaurant meal or go home: sit around the kitchen table and discuss the days events.
Then tomorrow we have that same right to do it all again.
But those wanting to protest against their Communist: socialist: mediaeval regimes that control their citizens and restrict their movements, controlling: everything that they do in their lives.
They don’t have the right to leave their homes with placards with loudspeakers and flags to protest against their governments, politicians and authorities: to march upon government buildings and scream out their obscenities.
They want to have a better life for themselves: freedom to march up and down for an hour or two - demanding to live a life they want not to be pushed around by their leaders and those in power, reaping the wards of corruption
However maybe soldiers will come out and shoot them. Take them to prison and hang them. Find them in hospital beds and murder them.
Can those protesters go home and sit around the kitchen table and discuss the success of their protest. No: they mourn the dead: those who have lost their life fighting for freedom for theirs own and others.
So you living in the free western worlds: feeling righteous and proud that you’ve protest it against somebody you don’t like.
So you think of those lying dead on the streets for having done the same thing.
Maybe you should wake up and see what you have.
